Handwoven in Northern Portugal — likely in the Minho region around the 1940s — it was carefully preserved by the same family and later embroidered as part of their enxoval antigo (traditional trousseau). This passage of time, from weaving to stitching, imbues the piece with a deep sense of continuity and care.

Crafted with enduring use in mind, it features a beautiful combination of techniques: fine ponto entremeios (drawn thread work), softly filled ponto cheio (satin stitch) floral motifs, delicate ponto aberto (openwork stitches) inside the flowers, and subtle ruliño (corded stitch) outlines that lend quiet relief and texture.
