Terms & Conditions

Before you order

We’re so grateful you’re here. By supporting Dalila, you help sustain a living network of artisans and researchers who carry ancestral knowledge forward — with care, intention, and respect.

Many of our pieces are vintage or archival, which means they carry time within them. Some were woven decades ago; others have lived quietly in drawers, on shelves, or inside trunks passed down through generations. They are not newly made — but newly loved.

Each piece is carefully chosen for its beauty, design, and soul. All our textiles are washed, inspected, and restored by hand, then thoughtfully prepared before making their way to you.

We encourage you to read each product description carefully. We always note the item’s condition, which may range from unused deadstock to visible signs of wear and age. These marks of time are not flaws — they are part of the story. Please note that while we take care to photograph items accurately, colors may vary slightly depending on your digital screen settings.

If you have any questions or would like more details before purchasing, please don’t hesitate to reach out: hello@dalilashome.com

Placing an order

Adding something to your cart doesn’t reserve it; we simply hold your place. Your order is confirmed the moment we send you an email after payment goes through, and that’s when it’s truly yours. Because so many of our pieces are one-of-a-kind, if something sells out before we can send that email, we’ll let you know right away and refund you in full via your original payment method.

Prices are shown in Euros (€) and include VAT where applicable for EU customers. If you’re ordering from outside the EU, your country may apply its own import duties or taxes on arrival. These charges are the sole responsibility of the recipient; please see our Shipping & Delivery page for full details.

Delivery

You’ll find estimated delivery times by destination on our Shipping & Delivery page, also shown at checkout before you pay. These are our best estimates, not guarantees. If your order is confirmed lost in transit by the courier, we’ll make it right with a full refund. Full details are available on our Shipping & Delivery page.

Your right to change your mind & Returns

EU Orders: Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (Decree-Law no. 24/2014), customers shopping from within the European Union have the legal right to cancel and return their order within 14 days of receiving the item, no explanation needed.

Non-EU International Orders: While statutory cancellation rights apply specifically within the EU, we want you to love your piece. If you are shopping from outside the EU and wish to request a return, please contact us at hello@dalilashome.com within 14 days of delivery. Returns are accepted at our discretion provided the item meets all return conditions below.

Return Conditions & Mechanics:

  • How to return: Email us at hello@dalilashome.com within 14 days of delivery to notify us of your return before sending anything back.

  • Return Shipping & Customs Costs: Unless the item is faulty, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the item to our studio in Portugal. For international returns, any customs duties, import taxes, or clearance fees incurred upon the parcel’s return to Portugal will be deducted from your final refund.

  • Condition: Items must be returned unused and in the exact condition they were sent. If an item shows signs of use beyond what is reasonably needed to inspect it, we reserve the right to deduct an amount reflecting the reduction in value.

  • Refunds: Once received and inspected, we will issue a refund for the item purchase price (plus standard shipping costs paid on the original outgoing order for EU customers) within 14 days, using your original payment method.

Exceptions: Any pieces that are custom-made, altered, or personalized specifically at your request are non-refundable and exempt from return rights unless faulty.

If something arrives damaged, faulty, or not as we described it

If that’s the case, it’s on us. While pre-existing vintage characteristics, natural age marks, and signs of wear described or photographed in the listing are part of a piece’s history and not considered defects, all items are otherwise covered by the legal conformity guarantee applicable to second-hand and vintage goods under EU and Portuguese law (Decree-Law no. 84/2021).

If your order arrives damaged beyond its described vintage condition, doesn’t match its description or photos, or has a hidden fault, contact us at hello@dalilashome.com within 14 days of delivery and we’ll cover the cost of returning it to us.
